Jo Ko is a ceramic artist born and raised in Oakland. Her work is inspired from the natural geometry in nature and by carving into a new identity through building unknown ambiguous forms. Her surrealist style embodies the raw feelings of mortality and the unknown: vulnerability, strength, and resilience all erupting out. As the development of her pieces continue to evolve the soul of these pieces will continue to reveal itself.


Workshops

Outside of her ceramics practice she also teach workshops at a local level. Studios include Clayroom and The Pottery Studio. She teaches private lessons out of her studio in Oakland.
